Volunteer with Animals : Project Hawaii Summer Community Service Program

Volunteer with Animals

Rein Community Service Project performed in conjunction with the Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary.

Volunteer with AnimalsIf you're a dog or cat lover, this is the place for you! Lend your heart, time and energy to this wonderful animal sanctuary. The Sanctuary's mission is to help, heal and find good homes for abused, neglected or otherwise homeless animals. The Sanctuary also tries to reunite lost animals with their human companions. A non-profit organization relying on contributions of public support and funding to continue operations and provide continued services, the dogs and cats are in great need of your volunteer assistance. Walk and play with dogs, cuddle kittens, feed, clean, groom, build, repair kennels, maintain and landscape property and otherwise maintain and improve the lives of the 300+ animals in residence at the Sanctuary.

  • Participants volunteer with the same project for the length of the program, in order to create meaningful bonds between our volunteers and the animals they are helping.
  • Participants volunteer Monday - Friday for three consecutive weeks, earning a total of 80 hours of Community Service.
  • The goal of Project HAWAII is not only to give back to the community but for our participants to also learn and grow through their experiences.
